All Souls Day 2014

“I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)

Jesus said to the crowds: “Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.” (John 6:3-9)

238In the Preface from the Funeral Mass, the Church reminds us of this important truth, “Life changes, but does not cease.” The souls of our loved ones still live as they continue their pilgrimage towards eternal life. Our Masses and prayers will help our loved ones reach their eternal life in paradise.

On All Saints Day, Saturday, November 1st, Father Andrew Bilinski will celebrate Holy Mass at the Parish Cemetery for all the parishioners, family, and friends at 10 a.m. He will read the names of the departed that have been mailed in and bless the graves.

All Souls Day Sunday, November 2nd, we commemorate all the Faithful Departed. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. and Father Andrew will again read the names of our departed loved ones and pray for them.

The Daylight Savings time ends Saturday, November 1st. Please do not forget to move the clocks back one hour.

May God watch over you and bless you and your family every day!
